Air Bases

Offutt has been a key strategic Air Force Base since 1948, central for worldwide reconnaissance since 1967. The other bases featured on this site are Forbes AFB, Kadena AB, Eieleson AFB, Shemya AB, RAF Mildenhall, NAS Souda Bay, Shemya AB, and Thule AB. To support constant, worldwide vigilance has required, and requires still, short-notice TDY for most 55th crews.
