Hi, my name is chuck Baldwin, I was a crew chief in the 55 air refueling squadron from 1957 to 1961,imn looking for folks who went to det 2 at yakota and kadena, imn looking for a witness who maybe saw me their or experienced what I did. I am trying to validate  a va disability  claim. I am  74 now, healthy but have parkinsons disease. I believe that I was exposed to herbicides on guam at Anderson afb. I also was exposed to pesticides at hickham when the a/c [kc-97] was sprayed with  DDT for insects . thanks in advance for any help ..

Subject: Outstanding B-50 book Best I've ever read/seen as many photos
To: "webguy@55wa.org" <webguy@55wa.org>
55thWA, Thought I would pass this along.
I am the President of the Air Force Navigators Observers Association (www.afnoa.org) and we have an authors reading group, doing book reports on the likes of Unbroken, and Flying from the Black Hole (a Nam B-52 real life Nav story) by Robert Harder.
We have just read Geoffrey Hays "Boeing B-50" photo book. Steve Ginter of www.ginterbook.com publishes them.
Go to www.ginterbooks.com for price & delivery. My opinion here: Ginters books are worth every penny. They are great.
AFNOA also sells Ginter's book at our Reunions because they are so good.
We/AFNOA have a Reunion for ALL NAVS - ALL TYPES  April 8-9-10, 2013, in Savannah and the authors will be there to offer their books to the attendees. For information contact: Reunion Chairman: Jimmy Bannerman: jimmybannerman@cfl.rr.com  Come meet Robert Harder,,, his book I call "BOMBING from the Black Hole."
To learn more about Navs please see: www.usaf-nav-history.com  and  www.james-connally.org

Subject: Wing Birthday Ball Contract/Room Reservations 3-4 May
Hokay, this is the very latest poop from the Ball Committee chair, Capt Hernandez.  Spread the word.
The Courtyard Marriott is immediately adjacent to the LaVista Embassy Suites, they share the parking lot, is within a short walk. Rooms may be had at the Embassy but at what ever rates they have going. There is a Hampton Inn  nearby, but takes a vehicle ride or maybe they have a van.  Do your booking early. like last week. The Ball is the same weekend as the Berkshire-Hathaway share holders meeting. A reeaaallly big deal in Omaha that attracts 30-40K bodies every year. Warren Buffett refers to it as The Woodstock for Capitalists. Rooms are booked for miles around, so good lucka for you.
 VO, Max

Our Wing Birthday Ball contract is signed and our rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott are available for booking.  Before I advertise across the wing, can you pass this to the 55th Wing Association personnel who plan on attending.  I was able to secure 10 rooms for Friday, and 25 rooms for Saturday.  Personnel looking for an extended stay can still contact the Courtyard or Embassy Suites and request extra days, however, we are not guaranteed the blocked rate for the days outside of Friday & Saturday.

Our guests can contact the onsite reservation department at (402)339-4900 and ask for the group name "55th Wing Birthday Ball" or group code "FFW."  The total cost per room is $129,  (single & double rate), $139 (triple rate), and $149 (quad rate).
Rooms must be reserved NLT 2 Apr 2013 or they will be released to the general public.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Jaime
